Changing the registration

What should I do if I want to change or delete information of my registration?

Contact us via e-mail at info@trenkturas.lt.

I would like to choose a different route. How can I do that?

If you would like to choose a shorter route, you can do that at the starting line – when receiving your starter pack, inform our team about your wish to walk a shorter distance than the one that you have signed up for.

If you would like to choose a longer route, you must sign up again and pay the participant’s fee. Your former registration can be transferred to a different person, sold or given as a gift.

I cannot (do not want to) participate in the walk anymore. Can I get my participant’s fee back?

We do not offer refunds of the participant’s fee, but you can sell your registration, transfer it to a different person or give it as a gift.

If you decide to do that, inform us about it via e-mail at info@trenkturas.lt, providing your ticket or order number, the chosen route and the personal information (name, surname, e-mail address) of the participant whose information will be changed. You should also provide correct personal information (name, surname, e-mail address, mobile phone number, city, date of birth and the name of his/her team if he/she belongs to one) of the new participant.

We would like to remind you that, by transferring the registration to a different person, the participant agrees to introduce the person to the rules of the walk, while the new participant agrees to abide by them.

If I cannot participate in the walk anymore, or if I would like to transfer or sell my registration (ticket), can I post about it on your Facebook event page?

Yes, you can do that, but you should find the post which is dedicated to discussions or swapping registrations, and do that there.

Team challenge

Do I have to indicate a team when signing up for the walk?

No, it is not necessary. The walk is, first and foremost, an individual challenge, so every participant who conquers the chosen route will receive a personal diploma and a medal. Team challenge is an additional option for those of you who would like to walk as a group, represent a company or a club and compete while trying to walk the longest distance.

The teams who walk the most kilometres will receive special prizes.

What should I do if I failed to provide a team name, or if I would like to switch teams?

If you have a team but you failed to indicate its name during the registration, or if you would like to change the name, contact us via e-mail at info@trenkturas.lt, providing your ticket or order number, the name and surname of the participant and the exact name of the team.

Walking

How will the official participants of the walk be identified during the event?

Participants will wear control bracelets of their chosen route – they will be checked at the starting line, at leisure and help posts and at the finish line. Only official participants will be entitled to receive food, tea, drinking water, transportation back to Smiltynė in the case of cutting the walk short, diplomas of the chosen route, medals in the case of conquering the whole route and other services.

Will the duration of successful walks be measured?

The duration of your chosen walk will not be measured. The goal of the event is not to walk as fast as possible, but rather to enjoy the walking, the sea and the good company.

If you are trying to set a personal record or wish to compare your results to those of your friends, we suggest measuring the duration of your walk by your own means.

Is there a time limit for reaching the finish line of my chosen route?

There are no exact time limits – however, every participant should decide what time he or she should start walking and how fast he or she should walk in order to be able to reach all of the leisure and help posts during their working hours and reach the finish line in time.

You can find the starting and finishing time frames for every route here; the working hours of leisure and help posts will be noted in your participant’s passport, which you will receive together with your starter pack on the day of the event in Smiltynė.

We have taken the fastest and the slowest possible walking speed of different participants into consideration, so you can rest assured that you will be able to make it in time even if you are the last one to start walking.

Will I be walking exclusively along the coastline?

No – around half of every route will run across the coastline and the rest of the distance will take you on a walk along forest pathways and bike paths.

Will I be able to safely leave my personal belongings somewhere during the walk?

Yes, you will be able to leave your belongings with us at the starting-finish line in Smiltynė before the walk and retrieve them once you are finished.

Will vegetarian and vegan food or snacks be available during the walk?

Yes, we will provide vegetarian options. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that vegan food will be available as well, so we suggest that you take some of it with you.

Can I run during the walk?

The rules of the walk prohibit running.

It is also unnecessary, as the duration of successful walks will not be measured and the fastest walkers will not receive special prizes. Making sure that nobody is running during the walk is difficult, but the working hours of leisure and help posts are tailored to the walkers, so you might have to wait if you rush too much.

If I fail to reach the finish line of my chosen route, will I be transported back to the start of the walk?

Yes, you will. Participants who would like to cut their walk short should inform our team about their decision at any one of the leisure and help posts along their chosen route. They will be transported back to the starting line in Smiltynė as fast as possible.

Under what circumstances will I be entitled to receive a diploma and a medal?

Every registered participant will receive a diploma, regardless of how many kilometres they have conquered.

You will receive a diploma with your name, surname and the number of kilometres walked at the leisure and help post where you choose to cut your walk short, or at the finish line if you walk the whole route successfully.

Only participants who have walked the whole route of their choice and reached the finish line successfully will receive a medal. However, if a participant chose one route, but conquered another, he will not receive a medal at the finish line.
